Ready-to-Work
Ready-to-Work is a national skills development and bridging program designed by the CTHRC to assist people with transitions into the tourism workforce. The program offers a mix of placements that provide participants with the skills, knowledge, attitudes, and experience required for long term, stable employment in tourism - the world’s fastest growing industry.
The CTHRC Foreign Credential Recognition Program
The CTHRC Foreign Credential Recognition Program was launched to address labour shortages in the Canadian tourism sector by helping new immigrants from non-regulated professions come to Canada more easily. The program also helps new immigrants integrate into the Canadian labour force more quickly.
Canadian Centre for Language Benchmarks
The Centre for Canadian Language Benchmarks developed Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) as the national standards for English as a Second Language (ESL). The standards describe English competency at 12 levels within four skill domains that include listening, speaking, reading and writing. These CLB standards are used in all ESL training programs in Canada. Additionally, CLB has developed standard language benchmarks for 14 tourism occupations.
