Tourism is one of the world’s fastest growing industries and its potential as a driver of economic growth should not be ignored. The sector has potential for significant growth as an economic driver and source of employment in the coming decades. The summary shows how increased spending on tourism goods and services will increase the need for tourism jobs at a pace exceeding the ability of the labour force to fill them. This gap between labour supply and labour demand represents a threat to the sector’s growth potential.
