Certification for this occupation leads to the Certified Event Management Professional (CEMP) designation, and includes three core components (an exam, requisite experience and a Portfolio of Evidence). The exam consists of 125 questions and is based on the Event Management International Competency Standard (Version 1.0). The exam contains a mix of independent and case based questions, and includes multiple-choice and short answer formats. Required industry experience is 5000 hours.The Portfolio of Evidence requires the candidate to describe how they have planned, implemented and evaluated a specific event, as well as provide supporting evidence and professional references confirming the candidate's role in the event management process.
