These International Competency Standards for Event Management have been developed in cooperation with industry participants from Canada and 19 other countries. The Standards describe in detail the skills, knowledge, and attitudes that employers and clients are looking for when obtaining professional services to plan, implement, and evaluate different types of events in Canada and internationally. For the purposes of the Standards, the term 'international' is defined as relevant and applicable to industry practice in more than one country and includes the full range of events (local, regional, national or international). These standards are full of practical information that will help International Event Management practitioners offer quality service.
The standards form the basis for the Events Management International Certification, which leads to the Certified Events Management Professional (CEMP) credential.
