Train the Trainer - Participant Manual - Version 2.0

Whether conducting a workshop with a room full of participants or coaching one-on-one, trainers have many options to help trainees learn. Research has shown that the amount of information people retain and implement is in direct proportion to how much they enjoy their learning experience, as well as the quality of their relationship with the person delivering the information or teaching the skill.

The Train the Trainer program provides participants with an understanding of adult education principles, as well as information about and opportunities to practise training and coaching skills. This course has been developed to reflect the specific needs of the Canadian tourism sector, but is adaptable to other industries.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify learning needs and develop subsequent learning objectives
  • Learn and apply the skills associated with professionalism
  • Develop and deliver appropriate training programs applicable to various audiences (experience level, group size, capabilities)
