Workplace Essentials online is a pre-employment training program based on National Occupational Standards. It was developed specifically for new entrants to the workforce, or for those looking to upgrade their skills. It teaches transferable skills that are required for successful employment in any occupation. The online learning covers 16 major skills areas in 10 modules, including having a positive attitude, showing responsibility, showing adaptability, using communication skills, using numeracy skills, using computers and technology, and more.
While the material in Workplace Essentials is applicable to any industry, it also includes additional information specific to the tourism sector. This online learning is excellent preparation for candidates pursuing the Workplace Essentials Certificate.
Learners will have access to the online learning for one year after starting the course, and will receive a reminder email thirty days before their access ends.
Once you’ve completed all modules of an online course, please email info@emerit.ca if you would like a “Certificate of Achievement” that you can add to your professional development portfolio.
